ntx_wdog Command

Purpose

Starts the watchdog timer on a Network Terminal Accelerator (NTX) adapter board. This command only applies to AIX Version 4.2 or later.

Syntax

ntx_wdog [ -d Device ]

Description

The ntx_wdog command starts the watchdog feature on an adapter board running microcode version 03A or later.

Flags

-d Device Specifies the raw device file name of the adapter. Use this option to override the default device name /dev/rhp0.

Exit Status

This command returns the following exit values:

0 Successful completion.
>0 An error occurred.

Security

Access Control: You must have root authority to run this command.

Auditing Events: N/A

Examples

To start the watchdog on the adapter /dev/rhp1, enter:

ntx_wdog -d /dev/rhp1

Files

/usr/bin/ntx_wdog Contains the ntx_wdog command.
/dev/rhp0 Default NTX raw device file name.
